With equal measures of courage and optimism, the spirited little orphan Annie wins over hearts despite her humble beginnings in 1930s New York City. Determined to reunite with the parents who abandoned her years ago at the doorstep of a grim orphanage, Annie bravely faces the harsh realities of life under the cruel and embittered Miss Hannigan. Together with her fellow orphans, Annie escapes into the bustling, magical world of New York City, where every adventure brings new hope and excitement. From outsmarting Miss Hannigan’s wicked schemes to forming an unlikely friendship with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Annie’s journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Ultimately, she discovers love and belonging in the warm embrace of billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his kind-hearted secretary Grace Farrell, and a loyal canine companion, Sandy.
Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon. The beloved book and score by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin, features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow."
