NZ’s premier classic car show since 1972
The second Sunday in February has become a highlight in every New Zealand car lovers’ calendar. Thousands of car enthusiasts visit Ellerslie Racecourse to enjoy a different type of horse, the ones found under the bonnets of this country’s biggest line up of classic cars– many of them regarded among the world’s best restorations.
The Intermarque Concours d'Elegance is central to the show, celebrating classic and marque cars with competitions of an international standard based on presentation, appearance, originality, and excellence. The finest examples of cars compete for coveted awards in several classes – Teams, Masters, Survivors, 30/40/50 & Modified.
Aside from the Concours cars about 80 car clubs will create the biggest display of car marques from all around the globe. Clubs will be doing their best to represent this year’s theme, Summer Holiday. There will be 'Child's Passports' for all kids, highlighting displays with special activities or giveaways for them.
The show is organised and run by volunteers from participating car clubs and all the proceeds made, are paid out to the clubs displaying on the day.
On top of all that, there is the Park and Polish, a competition for the general public!
Cars are directed to the special area beside the main pedestrian entrance and prizes are awarded at the main prizegiving.
