Kerikeri Theatre Company, in conjunction with Kainui Road Vineyard, is excited to be back in 2025 with its 6th Season of Shakespeare Under the Stars! 

Now an iconic and feature event on the Far North summer calendar, founding Director Barbara Kirkman brings to life Shakespeare’s tragi-comedy, ‘The Tempest’, against the backdrop of Kainui Road’s spectacular vineyard.

Incorporating all of Shakespeare’s fabulous, timeless themes of love, magic, betrayal and family, Barb’s interpretation of the Bard’s epic story cleverly interweaves local Maori magic, original musical compositions, and an array of seasoned and debut performers, all under the blissful skies of summer. 

You’re invited to participate in this well-loved annual tradition: sip a tasty Kainui beverage, spread your picnic blanket on the lawn, or book a gazebo with friends, a farmhouse platter and wines, then sit back and soak up all the culture.

The gazebo tickets include seating for four people, with one complimentary wine per guest, a Kainui grazing platter to share - choose from either farmhouse with meat, or the vegetarian option of assorted cheeses. Get some friends together, and enjoy watching the performance from an elevated position.
