The Factory Theatre and He Waka Eke Noa Charitable Trust are proud to present a showcase of two works with thanks to Sky City Community Trust.
Showcasing at this event will be:
Kōwhai Mokaraka with ‘Springtime in Ghostland’ (working title)
Stuck in a state of permanent winter, two sisters attempt to change the weather. Dogs, fish, birds and Creatures (capital C) feature.
Featuring Kōwhai Mokaraka, Jess Cunningham, Kai David, Grace Elijas and Castor Chacko, blending elements of puppetry, movement and physical theatre.
Ersha Island 二沙岛 with Hùn Xuè 混血 / Mixed Blood - Reflections of Multicultural Revelations
Hùn Xuè 混血 (directly translating to “mixed blood”) is a spoken word and music theatre piece that follows the Chinese-Pākehā siblings Ersha Island 二沙岛 as they untangle the complexities of growing up between cultures, languages, and expectations. Blending poetry, original music, and intimate storytelling, the piece explores identity, memory, and belonging through the lens of mixed-Asian heritage. Grounded in lived experience, Hùn Xuè 混血 is a tender, humourous, and unfiltered reflection on what it means to be raised between worlds - and what it takes to reclaim them.
Join us for an unforgettable evening featuring two engaging works – there will be an opportunity for a Q+A after each performance.
