Arts a Go Go! Performing Arts School presents two magical shows based on history: The Sound of Music- Youth Edition, and The Sound of History - Hope Rising
Shows A and B: Two different casts of The Sound of Music - Youth Edition. The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein, The Sound of Music won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows an ebullient postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire von Trapp family must make a moral decision. The Youth Edition is a shorter version of the full stage show.
Show C: The Sound of History - Hope Rising. A fabulous combination of inspiring plays, Irish dancing and musical theatre. You will see “A History of Messy Rooms” by Wade Bradford, adapted by Rachel Main, “Louis Pasteur and the Point of Discovery” by Hannah McKenzie Doornebosch, “The Golden Hour: Arthur Lydiard and the New Zealand Middle Distance Runners” by Hannah McKenzie Doornebosch, “Against the Grain: Tabitha Babbitt and the Turn of 1810” by Hannah McKenzie Doornebosch, “Irish Rock History” and ‘Beyond Wicked! - A Tribute to Stephen Schwartz”.
