When aliens take over a New Zealand research farm, to develop glowing sheep as food for an invading army, a hero ram must survive the ups and downs of rural farm life, save his hot love interest and band together a rag tag bunch of farm animals to defeat the extraterrestrial threat!
This is the premiere performance of an original Kiwi musical comedy, written, composed and designed right here in Northland. With hormonal sheep, hippy goats, an inharmonious cow and pig and hair-raising aliens, this quirky story and its toe tapping musical score will get your heart racing, your cheeks aching and your mind wondering!
Written over a handful of years by Maura Bailie-Bellew, Flock incorporates her lifelong love of domestic livestock. Suzie Hurd has composed the emotive music and soundscape for this unique show. A talented musician, composer, singer and regular go-to musical director for Kerikeri’s local theatre and music scene, Suzie loved the script and has dived headlong into this collaboration. The show is blessed with having Kylie Penn, of The Magic Playhouse, as our outstanding director and show developer.
Bringing a new show to the stage is a group effort of love and tenacity – each member bringing their unique talents and skills. Adding in the very talented cast of experienced and new actors will surprise and delight the audience.
