This special event will be hosted by the Ngati Rehia Community Kapa Haka Group, who will present their finale from the 8-week Kapa Haka programme led by Rawi Pere, Crystal Harden, Sophia Thomas, Denny Harden, and Daniel Kaiawe. Experience the dynamic essence of kapa haka, encompassing haka, poi, choral pieces, action songs, and entry waiata, as participants take the stage before their friends and whanau.
Next on the bill is ‘Shapes in the Clouds,’ the premiere work by dancer, actor, and stunt artist Andy Tilo-Faiaoga. This humorous and heartwarming show is inspired by the imaginative visions of a budding superhero—his 11-year-old son, Dallas Tilo-Faiaoga, who is of Samoan and Ngapuhi descent. Presented in partnership with Pacific Dance NZ, this captivating dance theatre production weaves together movement, song, poetry, and media, delving into the dreams of a father and his adventurous son. As Dallas makes his debut as a writer and choreographer alongside his dad, this intergenerational work promises to enchant audiences of all ages and has been selected for the Pacific Dance Festival in June 2025.
